Today is a big day. A huge day. I’m currently gripped by it.
Many of you know the story of Grace Schara. If you don’t, you should. The 3-week trial for her wrongful death starts today in Appleton, WI. Children’s Health Defense will be livestreaming it and I’ll be attending live on June 16
and 17. (Today is jury selection, so CHD's livestream starts tomorrow.)
I met Grace’s dad, Scott, in the spring of
2023 at a HF conference in WI and had the honor of having a long dinner with him and others in the movement. We were already privy to the shocking story, but to hear him detail the horror of what happened to Grace left us all speechless, in tears, and…livid.
I’ll start by saying that I’ve never met a more determined man. I’m honored to call him a friend.
For those unaware of this situation, I’ve found it difficult to summarize it for this newsletter, so I’m co-opting the words of my good friend, Steph Lind, who I just got off the phone with. Steph is the founder of H-ealth F-reedom Summit and is one of the most prolific, spiritual, and thoughtful people I’ve come to know in the last few years—we are tight. Oh, the deep and profound conversations we have that transcend the “here and now” and the front and center issues that we all
navigate daily. There's nothing surface with this girl.
As she said, the implications of this trial are national—and nothing short of explosive.
