Friends,
I need your help. This is an easy one...I just need your input. And I need it soon.
My friend, Laura Churchman, is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and
Certified Holistic Health Practitioner. This woman is bucking the system and has an important meeting...tomorrow.
She has a deep calling on her heart to be an integral part
of saving our children.
Please answer this question...
From a healthcare perspective, what are your wants/needs for the children you love and care about?
It doesn't have to be your children, of course. It can be your grandchildren, your nieces and nephews, your future children and grandchildren.
Laura wants to build something better than our current broken healthcare system.
She's taking on...a lot. She's in Ohio, but she wants to possibly create a repeatable model.
And she's pitching some ideas, tomorrow, to a couple of medical providers who looking to collaborate and getting feedback is a crucial step in this process.
I know this is last minute. Your responses don't have to be long and flowery. Simply hit reply and I'll get your answers to Laura, who will present them in her meeting.
Thank you!
More about Laura... (I know y'all know Dr. Paul. She used to work for him. 🙂)
My name is Laura Churchman. I’m a Christian, wife, and mother. I graduated from nursing school in 2012 and it was during my pediatric rotation that I began to feel God pull my heartstrings for the health of
children.
Shortly after graduating, I began working for a pediatric home care company that cared for medically fragile children. One boy, just under two years old, suffered from severe brain damage, had a trach and G-tube, and experienced frequent seizures. Each morning, he was miserable, thrashing in his crib, with flushed skin and beads of sweat as he cried through his
trach.
For months, doctors were unable to determine the cause of his distress. None of the medications they prescribed worked. While soothing him one day, I noticed his swollen gums where teeth should be. Realizing he couldn’t hold onto toys or teethers due to his condition, I began gently massaging his gums each morning. Over the following months, his gums healed, teeth emerged, and he stopped thrashing and crying. It
was a simple prevention intervention that could have saved this young boy from months of suffering.
This experience changed my professional trajectory. I pursued furthering my education, becoming a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with a focus in primary care as I now knew that prevention was at the heart of my calling. It did not take long for me to realize
what medical corruption was as it is apparently synonymous with western primary care pediatrics.
Once I graduated, honestly, I felt I had wasted three years of my life.
In this country, primary care pediatrics = vac**ine factory. Every pediatric office in my area except one forced va**ination. Meaning, you’re kicked out and denied medical care
if you will not va**inate how they say you should.
I truly wondered what God’s plan was here. I sought his will the entire way, but felt I’d ended in a place that made absolutely no sense. I mean, it was never a question to me—practicing this type of “primary care” was not an option.
After a lot of research and a shot in the dark email, I received a response back from the office of Dr. Paul Thomas. He saw my heart and believed in me. Within a year, my family and I moved across the country and I had the amazing opportunity to work side by side with him. After two years, my time there drew to an end as God called me back home to care for my dying grandmother.
Although I didn’t regret coming back to care for her, I did end up back in the same situation. There were no jobs in my area that I could morally and ethically do and this time it was even worse as it was in the midst of the plandemic. Paul had started a telehealth clinic and I was able to see some people through that. It was difficult for him though as he was in a fight for his medical license being unrightfully stripped from
him.
I made the prayerful decision to take over the telehealth practice as my own and further my holistic education, becoming a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner. Amongst other services I offer, I specialize in bioresonance therapy through my practice, Healing From the Root. Serving people through my practice has been so fulfilling.
However, my calling is still preventative pediatrics.
This week, I’ll be pitching some ideas to a couple of great providers looking to collaborate. We’ll discuss ideas on how to build something better than this current broken system. There’s a lot to
consider and I am prayerfully continuing to seek God’s will.
I have a couple of thoughts. In no certain order, here they are:
1. We could have a telehealth/concierge-based platform to serve our surrounding communities and others. Then, contract
with local cash-pay offices for in-person care for the pediatric population which they serve. This option will give us the most flexibility to reach families in need of our services.
2. We could set up a cash pay or even DPC model brick-and-mortar integrative pediatric Urgent Care/Clinic or Consultant Practice.
3. We could look into partnering with an already established practice to expand their services and what they have already built. Including my already established practice, Healing From the Root.
There are multiple options. One of the crucial steps in this process is finding out what people want. That is where you
come in! I want to know…what do you want for the kids you love? Although we’re in Ohio, maybe we can build a repeatable model that others could do near you. There are more logistics that need to go into to all of this but, in this brainstorming phase, I want to look at as many possibilities as I can.
I truly thank you for your time to get to know me, my testimony,
and this calling on my heart to be a part of saving our children. And thank you for helping me to learn more about what your wants/needs are for the kids you care about.
I know that we are stronger together. And together, with God, we can make a better future for our kids.
